November Tea Report: 2021 China Exports & US Imports

Data from the China Tea Marketing Association and the US Census Bureau (GATS) was recently published regarding China exports and US imports of tea for November 2021.

CHINA EXPORTS

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE

• Jan-Nov total export volume is UP 4.0% year on year
• Total export volume is UP 33.6% over the previous November
• Average prices are UP 0.7% over the previous November to $5.75/kg
• Exports of GREEN tea volume INCREASED 35.4% over November 2020
• Exports of BLACK tea volume INCREASED 13.0% over same time last year

US IMPORTS

43.0% of all ORGANIC US TEA IMPORTS were from China

‍HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE

• Average price for November GLOBAL imports was $4.19/kg
• Average price for November CHINA imports was $4.95/kg
• 25.9% of all GREEN tea import (volume) was from China, but only 16.6% of VALUE
