January Tea Report: 2022 China Exports & US Imports

Data from the US Census Bureau (GATS) was recently published regarding US imports of tea for January 2022. The China Tea Marketing Association has often combined January and February export data, so the release of that data is pending.

61.0% of all ORGANIC US TEA IMPORTS were from CHINA

‍HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE

• 15.2% of TOTAL US TEA IMPORT VOLUME came from China
• Average price for January GLOBAL imports was $4.70/kg
• Average price for January CHINA imports was $4.46/kg
• 40.5% of all GREEN tea imports (volume) were from China, but only 20.2% of VALUE
